Enugu State College of Health Technology (Escohtech) is an esteemed Institution of Health, situated in Oji River.

The College is committed to training of health workers capable of mobilizing communities for effective provision and utilization of high quality comprehensive healthcare in the new millennium. 

Enugu State College of Health Technology has Professional Health Personnel as  lecturers and adequate health facilities that will be used to impart high standard knowledge and discipline to it students.

The College currently offers Eight courses which are:

1. Community Health, which has two cadre, namely:
a. CHEW
b. JCHEW

2. Pharmacy Technicians

3. Medical Laboratory Technicians

4. Environmental Health Officers (EHO)

5. Environmental Health Technicians (EVT)

6. Medical Imaging Technician (Radiography)

Here in this article, details of Escohtech School Fees payable for the 2023/2024 academic session is now out. This consist of fees for all new and old students of in their various department and levels. 

Therefore, the management of the school is pleased to inform all the students of the school that the College of Health Technology Oji River has officially published the amount to be paid by students of the institution at various levels. 

Students are required to check the fee breakdown below.

The school fee schedule given below comprises of fees to be paid by newly admitted undergraduate students as well as returning undergraduate students.

• All new students fees is from N105,000 and N170,000

• Returning students fees is from N25,300 and N53,000.

ESCOHTECH Admission Requirements and School fees depend on the course of study whether new or old students.

1. Admission Requirements and Amount Payable for Pharmacy Technician

Pharmacy Technician Prospective candidates should possess WASCE, SSCE, GCE ‘O’ level, or NECO certificates with five (5) credits which must include English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, and Physics at not more than two (2) sittings.

Amount Payable for Newly Admitted Students

2. Admission Requirements and Amount Payable for Community Health Extension Workers (CHEW)

Potential applicants for Community Health Extension Workers (CHEW) should have earned five (5) credits in the WASC, NECO, or GCE "O" Level in no more than two (2) sittings.

Biology, English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, and Physics are the five required credits.

3. Admission Requirements and Amount Payable for Medical Laboratory Technician

Prospective candidates must possess five (5) credits at not more than two (2) sittings in WASC, SSCE, GCE ‘O’ level, NECO, or NABTEB examinations. The subject must include Biology, Chemistry, English Language, and Mathematics credits at no more than two (2) sittings. Retrainee MLT: Prospective candidates must possess a Medical Laboratory Assistant Certificate with two (2) years post qualification and Gi above.
Candidates for Medical Laboratory Technician/Assistant: Those whose SSCE, NECO, or its equivalent qualifications are more than five years by 2018 are not eligible for admission.

4. Admission Requirements and Amount Payable for Medical Imaging Technician (Radiography)

Image Processing Technician Prospective candidates should possess three (3) credits in GCE, WAEC, SSCE, or NECO, which must include: English Language, Mathematics, and one (i) of either Chemistry, Physics, or Biology in not more than one sitting.

5. Admission Requirements and Amount Payable for Environmental Health Technician 

Prospective applicants for the Environmental Health Technician (ND) program should have five credit passes from the WASC, SSCE, NECO, or GCE "O" level exams in no more than two (2) sittings, or their equivalent as may be permitted by EHORECON or WAHEB.

English language, mathematics, biology, chemistry, and physics are required disciplines.

6. Admission Requirements and Amount Payable for Environmental Health Officer

Prospective applicants for the Environmental Health Technology (ND) program should have five credit passes from the WASC, SSCE, NECO, or GCE "O" level exams in no more than two (2) sittings, or their equivalent as may be permitted by EHORECON or WAHEB.

English language, mathematics, biology, chemistry, and physics are required disciplines.

Environmental Health (HND)
In addition to Ci above, prospective candidates must hold a National Diploma (ND) in Environmental Health Technology and documentation of one (1) year of relevant work experience.
Note: For this course, science subjects are: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, General Science, and Health Science. Note: Combined results for Gi – Gii must be from the same examination body. i.e SSCE and SSCE or NECO and NECO.

7. Admission Requirements and Amount Payable for Junior Community Health Extension Workers (JCHEW) 

Junior Community Health Extension Workers (JCHEW) Applicants must have three (3) credit scores from the WASC, NECO, SSSC, or GCE "O" level exams in no more than two (2) sittings.

English Language, Biology, Mathematics, and any other two passes—one each from Physics, Chemistry, Geography, Food and Nutrition, and any of Economics, Agricultural Science, Accountants, or Commerce—must be included in the three (3) credits.

8. Admission Requirements and Amount Payable for Food Hygiene

Nutrition and Dietetics (ND)
Prospective candidates should possess four (4) credit passes in the WASC, SSSC, and GCE ‘O’ level or NECO examination at no more than two sittings.

The subject must include: Chemistry, Biology/Agricultural Science, and any other two (2) of the following: Mathematics, Food, and Nutrition, Physics, Economics/Commerce Health Science Home Management, English Language Basic Catering, and Food Services.

At least passes in English Language and Mathematics are compulsory.

Nutrition and Dietetics (HND)
Prospective candidates should possess the requirement for Fiabove, a minimum of Lower Credit (CGPA 2.50 and above) in the cognate ND examination, and a minimum of one year of related work experience.

2. Accreditation fee: N1,000

4. Departmental registration Fee = N5,500

The bank charges and Remitta cost of all the fees above are estimated to N5000 including the photocopies, passport, transport within school, and snacks involved in the journey.

TOTAL FEES FOR YEAR ONE IS FAIRLY ESTIMATED TO BE #130,000 - N250,000 there may be a possible balance.
